Hunt Valley, MD- AmTote is announcing changes to its executive leadership team. Bill Cabana will be retiring from his role as Chief Operating Officer, Steve Keech will be leaving his role as President to take on the role of Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at The Stronach Group, Racing & Gaming (TSG), Keith Johnson will be promoted to President of AmTote, Brenan Redman will be promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Keith Shelton will be promoted to Executive Vice President Wagering Operations.
“Steve has done a tremendous job at AmTote over the past decade, and the timing is perfect to have Steve turn the leadership of AmTote over to a new team and to bring his skills to TSG Corporate” said Alon Ossip, CEO of TSG. “It is with mixed emotions that I leave the team at AmTote to take on this exciting new role” said Steve Keech. Steve has led AmTote since 2007 and has overseen a great number of changes at the technology company, including its increased global presence and strategic relationships.
“I am honored to be taking on the President’s role of AmTote, and I can think of no one better to help me in that endeavor than Brenan Redman and Keith Shelton” said Keith Johnson the new President of AmTote. Steve will assist with the transition of the new leadership team over the next two months. Keith and Brenan take on their new roles as of July 1st, 2016.
Bill Cabana is retiring as the COO of AmTote after a stellar career in the industry, working in numerous roles for AmTote since 1967. He started his career repairing terminals at New England racetracks and worked his way up through the ranks to become the head of operations for the past 20 years. Bill has been an integral part of all of the changes at AmTote over the past 40 years and AmTote owes much of its success to his leadership. “I believe that the entire racing industry views Bill Cabana as the quintessential tote professional and we all acknowledge his incredible contribution to the industry at large” said Steve Keech.
Keith Johnson, Brenan Redman and Keith Shelton also commented on the monumental contribution that Bill has made to AmTote over the years. “Now that I have the place running smoothly I think I can safely turn it over to these three” quipped Bill Cabana regarding the appointments. Bill will continue in a part time consulting role focusing on new database projects and centralized operations initiatives.
